An old temple said to have been founded by Gyogi, and within the grounds, every April through May is the perfect time to see rhododendrons and azaelias in “Hourin no Niwa”, a garden created by leading Japanese gardener Mirei Shigemori.
Traditional Events
In January, the Saito Goma Fire Ritual and the Fire Walking Ritual are held to pray for protection against misfortune, and regular members of the public are also welcome to participate.
