Experience ancient history through the five senses

Located within the grounds of Ichioka-jinja Shrine, the ruins of this 7th century temple have been designated as a national historic site. Although the building no longer remains, it can be considered one of the oldest temples, built using the same layout as Horyuji Temple in Nara.
Based on excavation survey results the building has been partially reconstructed to allow visitors to experience a sense of scale of ancient times.
