Divine pond where Itsusenomikoto is said to have washed his arrow wound

Originally founded in the Middle Ages to enshrine the image of Emperor Jimmu, the current main hall is said to have been built in the early Edo period, around the mid-17th century.
There is a pond within the grounds where Jimmu’s older brother Itsusenomikoto is said to have washed his wounds during Emperor Jimmu’s Eastern Expansion. The two sacred trees, the nagi tree and ogatama tree, have been designated as Natural Monuments of Osaka Prefecture.
