Architectural design that conveys the history

According to temple lore, after being built in 1494, the temple was burned down in 1577 during Oda Nobunaga’s attack on Kishu. In the main hall, there is a large stone rainwater basin, with four men bearing different expressions supporting each of the corners. This is the work of famous craftsman Nara Rihei, who was active at the end of the Edo period, and has for a long time been considered a must-see work.
