It started from a single sapling

Although Noda-fuji (Noda Wisteria) in Shindachi-shuku is a private residence, it is well known as a famous wisteria spot. What was originally just a single sapling has been carefully grown for 30 years to now bloom 40,000 clusters of flowers. When in full bloom, the smell of wisteria fills the surrounding area.
Continuing the will of the previous owner, local residents formed the Wisteria Preservation Society and hold the Wisteria Festival at the end of each April to many bustling spectators.

See the Wisteria Preservation Society website for details.
