“Mizunasu no Marumo” is located along the Kumano Kaido road in Sennan City, and there are many famous and historic sites nearby, including the Yamada family residence, the Kaieiji temple site, the Archaeology Center, the Umayado-Oji site, and the Tsunoya family honjin. Also, Marumono’s water eggplant pickles are sold in a special sales area during the Wisteria Festival in April. We sell our products not only in our stores, but also in many regional areas throughout Japan. 【Highlights】

Marumo’s water eggplant pickles are famous for their homemade special salted rice bran paste for pickling (nukazuke). The owner roasts the rice bran by themselves every day and uses konbu (seaweed), sun-dried salt and chilli peppers from southern Hokkaido, all carefully selected ingredients.
Enjoy the exquisite harmony between the aroma and subtle sweetness of the roasted rice bran and the freshness of water eggplant harvested in the morning.
Because of its refreshing apple cider vinegar-based taste, the regular pickle brine (ekizuke) is particularly popular with women.
It is also possible to purchase water eggplants pickled with both the salted rice bran paste (nukazuke) and the regular pickle brine (ekizuke) as a set, if specified.
